About us
Maru Karate Kai is headed by Marc Grayston-hanshi and has classes in the Basildon area of Essex. He is supported by Brad Grayston-hanshi, Sue Rose-kyōshi and Harry Rose-renshi.
We have been teaching Karate classes in Basildon since 2009.
Maru Karate Kai is governed by the UK governing body for Shindo-Ryu Karate-Do. Zen Eikoku Shindo-Ryu Karate-Do Renmei and all students are members of Kodo Butoku Renmei, which is a worldwide martial arts organisation
Building Confidence in Young People
Maru Karate Kai have been working as a ‘sports for confidence’ club since 2009, working to increase physical activity and build self confidence in young people across Basildon.
The club are proud members of ‘Sported’, a group which promotes these aims nationally.
